Walking through the Mill

With three residents starring in a film based on a script culled from a book   "Through the Mill" published in 2002   the result is not merely a documentary, more a travelogue that takes us through the years of a village highlighting its industry, its leisure, its people. From canals, cinemas and public houses; railway and schools; sport and relaxation; factories and modern replacements, the beginnings of a community are traced and committed to film aimed at all age groups who wish to reminisce, enjoy and learn.
An educational tour de force unique to the area, it proves that life is worth writing about; photographing, including in a book and making the tales live.

Ultimately it will become a shared legacy.

The Book of the Film

WHAT MAKES A COMMUNITY LIVE?

PEOPLE DO
It is from them we learn about life, its high days, setbacks and industry.
Living creates a rich source from which we can draw.

The Heritage Group thought let's live a little and made a film. Here is the story behind that film. It contains humour and fun; it recaps those hours when things didn't seem to go right. But they did, in the end.
If you want to do something then get on and do it.
We made film stars of ordinary people and offered knowledge in the art. We share the insight into how it was done.

Blood, sweat and tears was mentioned, but hey! Rome wasn't built in a day either.
With added tales to make you laugh, allow you to remember those good old, bad old days, walk with us and enjoy it.

We did.
